The Mission of the Clarendon County Fire Department is “To reduce the loss of life and property.” For the first time in several years, we can once again help meet that goal when we host The Clarendon County Fire and Life Safety Community Fair Day. This opportunity to share fire and life safety messages by demonstrations or hands-on participation in fun educational activities will reach people of all ages.
In addition to the traditional messages on cooking safety, fire extinguisher training, home fire drill planning, proper child safety seat installations and station tours, we are adding a few new activities this year. One new and exciting event this year is The Kids Firefighter Course. A couple of the new agencies participating are South Carolina Highway Patrol with their Rollover Simulator and Duke Energy’s Live Line Demonstration.
Many of the trusted Community Risk Reduction partners returning this year include, but certainly not limited to; Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, Manning Fire Department, McLeod Health Clarendon EMS, South Carolina Forestry Commission, American Red Cross, and other First Responders and Service Organizations.
The location is 219 Commerce Dr. Manning, SC. The displays will open at 10:00 AM and last until 2:00 PM. Parking will be in the old Walmart parking lot, and shuttles will be available.
